 MORE TO COME

ABOUT

Hi—this is Jay.  I currently am a middle school counselor, and have been an educator for over 30 years.  I coach middle school basketball and am involved in the management of our junior high/middle school athletic league.  Although that takes a lot of time, I have been a vendor in one form or another at many different toy shows and comic conventions over the years.  I have sold at the San Diego Comic-Con for over 25 years.  (Booth 921 is my location—come by and say hello!)  I have also sold in Mesa, Scottsdale, Phoenix (Fan Fusion since before it was located downtown), Mesa, Glendale, Tucson (the die-cast show in March for 20 years running), and Yuma Arizona.  In California, I have been seen at the San Diego Comic Fest since its inception, and have also made a few shows in Palm Springs and even sold at WonderCon a few years back.  I have sold on Ebay and have been very active until recently on Amazon.  I have been a lifelong collector of comics, trading cards and toys.  My most serious collection revolves around Spider-man.  I have been enamored of Stan Lee’s creation since I was a young lad.  I still even own Spider-man comics that I bought in the 60’s and 70’s.  So, I get what it means to be a part of this arena.

Jay’s Junque was actually a name my wife came up with for my many collections.  I changed if from junk to junque, because it seemed classier, and I have a French last name.  I have always firmly believed the old axiom that one man’s junk is another’s treasure.  My family has always supported me in my pop culture endeavors.  Amanda, Maggie, and Matthew and Marc have always helped me with set up and take down at various shows.  Maggie, along with her spouse Ether are the ones who convinced me to get this website together—they have been doing all the work on it.  Matt owns Surprise Comics in Surprise, Arizona (you should check it out if you are ever in the neighborhood).  You can see him all over the Southwest at various shows.

Anyway, enough about me—I hope you can find what you are looking for—if you can’t, feel free to contact me—it’s going to be awhile (if ever) before we get everything on the website.  Happy hunting!
